Adapted from the multi-talented playwright/filmmaker's hit stage play of the same name, Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family finds the cantankerous family matriarch using her unique brand of tough love to help her family weather some particularly rough waters. Madea's niece Shirley has received a frightening medical diagnosis, and she's having a hard time figuring out how to break the news to the rest of the family. Unfortunately she's not the only one in the midst of a crisis, either: Kimberly is suffering from anger issues that are threatening to destroy her marriage; Tammy's marital problems are being compounded by her disobedient children; and Byron is struggling to stay out of the drug trade after spending two years behind bars. Later, as a skeleton in the family closet pops into the picture, Madea and Aunt Bam show that love and laugher can help to overcome even the biggest obstacles. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

During the Gulf War Joseph was evacuated from a clinic along with another baby, and the pair were given back to the wrong families. While Palestinian Joseph went to Tel Aviv with the Silbers, their actual Jewish son, Yacine (Medhi Dehbi), was brought to the West Bank by an Arab couple, Said (Khalifa Natour) and Leila (Areen Omari). The revelation turns the lives of the two families upside-down, forcing them to reassess their respective identities, values, and beliefs.

The film concerns Mike and Matt (Fife and McGee), two broke writing partners and best friends, waiting for their big break. When Mike's ex-girlfriend Deanna (Bowden) comes back into his life, Matt will do anything to save his only friend from another broken heart. A TRUE STORY is a film within a film...within a film, as we see the less glamorous side of Hollywood. The story is not, however, inclusive to the LA scene. It's a story about resisting temptation, maintaining integrity, and keeping track of what's really important in life: the people that really love you and would do anything for you, however imperfect they might be.
