Lorna (Gina Gershon, SHOWGIRLS, P.S. I LOVE YOU) is a strong-willed Texas woman who's had enough of her untrustworthy husband Dale's (Val Kilmer, TOP GUN, BATMAN FOREVER) criminal acts and lack of husbandry. Fed up, she enlists the help of her old friend, Tiny (Kelli Giddish, NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit"), to help her figure out what to do with Dale after his latest double-cross involving the theft of $100,000 from a bank. As the girls brainstorm for a "neat" solution, they medicate themselves with only the best of prescriptions - Tennessee whiskey - which leads them to even bigger problems. Mental illness is a real and growing problem in Japan, but one that is not acknowledged in many quarters. Government funding for mental health care has been shrinking, putting a greater burden on existing clinics and their staffs, and a strong stigma against acknowledging psychological problems is still common. Dr. Masatomo Yamamoto is a psychiatrist who runs Chorale Okayama, an outpatient mental health facility in Japan, and filmmaker Kazuhiro Soda presents a glimpse into his work and his patients in the documentary Seishin (aka Mental). Among those seeking help at Chorale Okayama are a woman who murdered her own child, a businessman who can no longer handle the stress of his job, and a woman who developed an eating disorder after being taunted for her fat legs; Yamamoto's other patients are dealing with everything from multiple personality to panic disorder. Yamamoto's goal is to return as many of his clients as possible to a productive life in society, and offers occupational therapy in two small businesses affiliated with Chorale Okayama, a dairy and a restaurant. However, though Yamamoto has much to be proud of, he usually finds himself dealing with more than he has the resources to handle, and a handful of his clients opt to commit suicide rather than see their treatment through. Mental was an official selection at the 2009 Miami International Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Elemental tells the story of three individuals united by their deep connection with nature and driven to confront some of the most pressing ecological challenges of our time. The film follows Rajendra Singh, an Indian government official gone rogue, on a 40-day pilgrimage down India's once pristine Ganges river, now polluted and dying. Facing community opposition and personal doubts, Singh works to shut down factories, halt construction of dams, and rouse the Indian public to treat their sacred "Mother Ganga" with respect. Across the globe in northern Canada, Eriel Deranger mounts her own "David and Goliath" struggle against the world's largest industrial development, the Tar Sands, an oil deposit larger than the state of Florida. A young mother and native Dene, Deranger struggles with family challenges while campaigning tirelessly against the Tar Sands and its proposed 2,000-mile Keystone XL Pipeline, which are destroying Indigenous communities and threatening an entire continent. And in Australia, inventor and entrepreneur Jay Harman searches for investors willing to risk millions on his conviction that nature's own systems hold the key to our world's ecological problems. Harman finds his inspiration in the natural world's profound architecture and creates a revolutionary device that he believes can slow down global warming, but will it work? Separated by continents yet sharing an unwavering commitment to protecting nature, the characters in this story are complex, flawed, postmodern heroes for whom stemming the tide of environmental destruction fades in and out of view - part mirage, part miracle.

A technical failure has endangered the lives of the people on board Peninsula Flight 2549. The pilots are striving, along with their colleagues in the Control Center, to find a solution. The flight attendants and the chief steward are atypical, baroque characters who, in the face of danger, try to forget their own personal problems and devote themselves body and soul to the task of making the flight as enjoyable as possible for the passengers, while they wait for a solution. Life in the clouds is as complicated as it is at ground level, and for the same reasons, which could be summarized in two: sex and death. (c) Sony Classics
