Starring B-Movie legends Joe Estevez and Dan Haggerty (TV's Grizzly Adams), along with many familiar and fresh faces, Axe Giant: The Wrath of Paul Bunyan will make audiences cower in fear. Paul Bunyan is one of the most famous characters in North American folklore. He and his companion, "Babe the Blue Ox," are featured in tall tales of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He will have to retrieve it from his former roommate - the obstinate, casually sinister Nancy (Eleonore Hendricks). Paul contacts Nancy, but she will not cooperate. A father and his estranged son hit the road under less than ideal circumstances in Jacob Berger's 2002 film A Loving Father. Famed novelist Leo Shepherd (Gerard Depardieu) has just been notified, via his daughter Virginia (Sylvie Testud), that he is to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. His son Paul (Guillaume Depardieu) also learns of his father's good fortune and attempts to call with his congratulations -- adulations that fall on deaf ears due to a falling out Paul had with his father several years previously. Leo, rather rashly, mounts a motorcycle to make the journey northward from his remote domicile in Switzerland to Sweden to collect the prize, against the advice of his family and close advisors. Paul, still wishing to connect with his father, attempts to catch up with him on the road -- doing so at the scene of an accident that Leo has barely managed to survive. Paul stows his dazed father into his car and sets out to find a hospital. Leo, ever the curmudgeon, strongly denies any need for the hospital and insists he be let on his way, forcing Paul to harness his father to the back seat of his car. Now provided with the opportunity to reach out to his father, Paul continues the voyage his father started and the two are forced to reconcile their differences along the way. A Loving Father was screened at the 2002 Locarno International Film Festival. ~ Ryan Shriver, Rovi

He won Grammys and an Academy Award; wrote many #1 songs; starred in a Brian DePalma movie; put out his own hit records and albums; was a guest on The Tonight Show fifty times; and is the president of ASCAP...and you might not have heard of him. In the 1970's, Paul Williams was the singer / actor / songwriter that emotional, alienated teenage boys all over the world wanted to be, a sex symbol before MTV, when sex symbols could be 5"2 and sing songs about loneliness with the Muppets. A wistful musical journey that will re-introduce a new generation to Williams' soulful classics, Paul Williams: Still Alive is the charmingly self-narrated story of Stephen Kessler's lifelong obsession with the former superstar-and what happens when the nostalgic filmmaker finally catches up with him. -- (C) Abramorama
